Climate-smart crops are the result of extensive research and genetic engineering, which targeted traits such as drought resistance, heat tolerance, and improved water and nutrient use efficiency. By enhancing these characteristics, scientists can create crops that can withstand extreme weather events, reduce water consumption, and maintain optimal yields even und farming practices.
